Notice to all users of the Holodeck:

There are safety protocols in place that cannot be deactivated without the approval of two commanding officers or the captain to protect users of the Holodeck from potential harm. However, every time the Holodeck is ever used in a nontrivial manner, no matter what the safety protocols say, the Holodeck turns into a deathtrap.

Unless you believe yourself to be adept at constructing a forcefield from your communicator and 19th century Earth tools, or you're at the very least not wearing a red shirt, you are strongly advised not to attempt to use the Holodeck until a designer comes up with a safety protocol that doesn't kill you whenever somebody looks at it funny. Even when you're not on the holodeck. Or in the same quadrant. Or time period.

In fact, if you are wearing a red shirt, Starfleet may not be the job for you

I went to the Mall of America last night, and while my companions were buying a new phone in the AT&T store (which, by the way, has a stock symbol of "T". I bet you didn't know that, did you? Kinda funny. Just one letter and all) I was using their display iPhone to update my website. It's painfully slow, just so you all know. It's slower than a 56K modem. I didn't actually go to a website that tells you how fast your connection is because I have a feeling it wouldn't have registered on the scale. In any case, all I had to do was update my "Ed is" message to be "Ed is at the mall." so that didn't take too long, even with a virtual keyboard.

We went to the mall because my aunt is hosting a foreign exchange student from India and she thought it would be fun to see the mall ("she" left intentionally ambiguous because I'm not sure whose idea it was). We when on the Log Flume, which was fun. The last time I went on that was before the 12-year-old kid got killed on it, which was quite awhile ago, so I didn't quite remember how... steep it was. Then when we got off, we looked at the automatic picture, which showed my aunt up front with her eyes closed, me in the middle looking "ironically calm" according to my aunt, and then an outline of Garima's(I have no idea how to spell her name, but it's something like that) head, because mine was right in front of it. Unfortunate, really.

I gotta say, the highlight of the day was seeing how crappy the iPhone was. And that's the top-of-the-line phone? Even more justification not to get one.
