Notice to all users of the Holodeck:

There are safety protocols in place that cannot be deactivated without the approval of two commanding officers or the captain to protect users of the Holodeck from potential harm. However, every time the Holodeck is ever used in a nontrivial manner, no matter what the safety protocols say, the Holodeck turns into a deathtrap.

Unless you believe yourself to be adept at constructing a forcefield from your communicator and 19th century Earth tools, or you're at the very least not wearing a red shirt, you are strongly advised not to attempt to use the Holodeck until a designer comes up with a safety protocol that doesn't kill you whenever somebody looks at it funny. Even when you're not on the holodeck. Or in the same quadrant. Or time period.

In fact, if you are wearing a red shirt, Starfleet may not be the job for you

Here I am, mid-finals-week, and staring at a computer screen, wondering why I'm not studying for the only final I've ever actually worried about, with the study materials sitting in front of me under the keyboard. It's not that I'm lazy, I'm just unmotivated to do well. It's history of theater. Come on! Who cares who the best and last Restoration Playwright was? (It was William Congreve). And honestly, do we care about "a natural actress in Voltaire's troupe"? That's all they know about Adrienne Lecouvreur! Even history people don't care about nobodies. I simply don't understand the need for a Theater Minor to take a History of Theater class that's this in-depth.

On a lighter note, after this final, I only have UI Design and Operating Systems, neither of which I really worry about. I honestly don't care how I do on those, since I know I'm going to do just fine in those classes.

I sold most of my books back today for $176, and more are to come tomorrow after my open-book final in UI Design. We shall see, then, who is the richer for it... Probably, it will be me.
